Though Tuesday night did not go the way that we hoped, I have much to be thankful for.  I would like to extend a very special thanks to all of the voters who participated in the process yesterday. I am so appreciative of the support that I received.  We are very blessed to live in a country that values every voice, and allows it to be heard.

One of the greatest parts of this campaign was the opportunity to talk with so many of you.  You told me about your struggles, and what you want for the community in which you live.   Your stories touched me, and will stay with me.  So, though I might not be your elected representative please know that I will continue to advocate for the issues that mean so much to all of us.

To my amazing staff and volunteers, I appreciate you.  You all sacrificed time with your family and friends, because you believed in my message and what I was trying to do for the people of the 84th district.  You all worked late into the night, knocked on countless doors, and never stop fighting for me and for the people of this district.  I thank you, and I will be forever grateful for your friendship and your efforts.  I once heard that you learn who your true friends are during this process.  I can truly say I have some amazing friends, who stepped up to the plate and went above and beyond.

I would also like to take a moment to congratulate my opponents on a hard fought race.  I wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors.

Thanks again for your support over the last few months – it means more to me and my family than words can express.
